Spectracide © Stump Remover Granules speed the decomposition of the stump, making it porous. Once the stump has become porous, it may be easily removed or burned. The decomposition, depending on the size of the stump, may take several weeks or months. Prior to using Spectracide Stump Remover Granules, freshly cut stumps should be killed with a brush killer such as Spectracide Brush Killer. This product works best when weather is warm and stumps are dry.
To Kill Stumps: Apply Spectacide Brush Killer (sold separately) or a similar systemic herbicide. Completely follow directions on label of product.
Directions For Use
This is not an instant product. It is an aid to natural decomposition.
To remove stumps, drill several 1-inch holes up to 12 inches deep into stump. Than into the side of the stump, approximately 3 to 4 inches from the top, drill a 1-inch hole slanting down to connect with the bottom of the center hole. Pour approximately 4 oz of Spectracide Stump Remover into each hole. Than fill with hot water to dissolve the granules. Continue to add water to the holes for several days to ensure Spectacide Stump Remover Granules dissolve completely. Allow the decomposition process to take place for four to six weeks before removing the stump.
Stump Burning Directions
In areas where burning is allowed, light a fire on top of the stump with charcoal briquettes. The heat created will be carried throughout the stump. The stump should smolder down to the roots until only ashes remain. Do not burn stumps if it is next to any structure.
Warning: Contains Potassium Nitrate.
Harmful if swallowed. If swallowed give one to two glasses of water or milk and call a physician. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Should contact occur, wash with plenty of water.
Keep out of the reach of children.
For everyone here who wants to use this stuff for fun reasons than ignore the entire first page which was the label on both sides of the bottle with the exception of the safety instructions but let me add this to properly use Saltpeter the granules must be ground down into a fine powder that can be done using a mortar and pestle found in kitchen and craft stores.
Wooden would be preferred as it does not build up a static charge (static can be problematic and make things go ka-boom) Safety goggles and gloves and face/nose protection as well, as ingredients that are powdered can become easily absorbed through the mucus membranes more specifically the nose.
Now in my experience wood charcoal that has been powdered is more chemically effective as charcoal briquettes contain tar and other chemicals that will produce too much toxic smoke specifically carbon monoxide, which is deadly when inhaled.
The potassium nitrate in the bottle is 100% pure so there's no need to try and purify it this has already been demonstrated by helpful pyro-technicians on youtube.com and for those videos done I say thank you gentleman if your out there reading you know who you are.
But for those here they are Slycafe aka Scott and XBangergooseX aka Brandon two of youtube.com's finest gentleman scholars of the school of boom we need more knowledgeable people like them. The internet is full of helpful people who like knowledge for the sake of knowledge many put up pages dedicated to the study of The Anarchist Cookbook, The Poor Mans James Bond, The Hitman's Manual, and countless other guides and manuals ranging from knife fighting, hand to hand combat, field stripping weapons and anything else a mind can think up.
Most of you here don't play around with chemicals not that I blame you for all the time it takes to learn how to deal with anything that can go boom can be anywhere from 6 months to 60 years depending on how far you want to take it, I myself have been a student of boom for 20 years off and on while cultivating an understanding in other areas.
