Ghosts and Spirits
First off ghosts and spirits where once human and lived there lives
as we do now I could wow you with stories by the dozens of ghosts
and spirits and denizens of the grave but I won't.
Why do ghosts and spirits exist? Because sometime we depart from
this world with unfinished business, maybe we where killed by
someone, or some thing, maybe we died trying to save the life of
another. As you may wonder why am I using the term we for ghosts
because in truth they are us "people"
There are different types of ghosts and spirits even noisy ghosts
called poltergeist
Now is this a lesson on how to hunt for ghosts? No . I've witnessed
these things in so many incarnations that I still have bad dreams
about them nightmares even. While I would count myself lucky if you
and others never had to witness such things, eventually that time
may come.
Are ghosts dangerous along with the places they dwell? Yes . Being
where a ghost is can be both a dangerous and scary situation, fear,
adrenalin, the mind, sound. They play a factor all around, there are
many people who still fear the darkness, even being in a darkened
room conjures up images of horror in the mind.
If you look at most urban legends you will hear about a girl on her
way to a party or already at said party or dance, and a guy finds
her there they hit it off and they dance or talk all night and the
guy offers her a ride home they pass might a certain point like the
scene of a auto accident or a fire and suddenly the girl is gone.
The guy continues driving to the place where the girl lives and goes
to the door knocking, he innocently tells his story asking for her
by name, some times the boy is invited in only to find out the
shocking truth that she's dead, shocked likewise there maybe a
picture of the girl on the mantle or a table and the boy will say
that's her, the parents either cry or say our daughter has been dead
since ?? whenever. In some of these stories the girl might be
abandoned on the side of the road or in the rain, in either case he
learns the truth usually going to the grave yard and finding the
item he loaned her is on her grave or on the ground.
One must ask themselves in today's world is this a safe practice?
No . and sometimes Yes .
You must weigh the options when presented, but to do it on automatic
decision would be foolish, not all ghosts are friendly as a national
TV show called Supernatural can contest to. And to which I speak
from personal experience.
The question you may be asking yourselves well gee Ken if there so
dangerous how did you deal with them? The answer is you don't deal
with them you take preventive measures to avoid confronting them.
There are protective Amulets, Talismans, Charms, Salt has been used
to hold evil spirits at bay, as is Silver, Holy Men have a use for
the following Exorcism, Blessing, even proper Prayer through faith.
Also the placing of religious symbols.
If you choose to go after ghosts remember ghost hunting is
dangerous, Many people ask if ghost hunting is dangerous in response
they expect to hear, "No ghost hunting is all harmless fun" This is
not always the truth" As ghost hunters travel into graveyards,
cemeteries, and places where spirits are known to linger, There is
always the possibility that a ghost hunter will find something that
they were not ready to find. Expect to find entities from all ends
of the spectrum from simple disembodied ghosts that cause little if
any problems to heartless evil spirits that want nothing but
destructions, If you are a ghost hunter long enough you will see and
experience everything. Lets just hope that you can avoid any serious
dangers. Remember that ghosts always have the upper hand on us. Do
not let your guard down even for a second. Ghosts can see us when we
cannot see them. Ghosts can appear where they want. Ghosts can hear
conversations that we have in private. Ghosts can watch us secretly.
And in some extremely rare cases ghosts can attack us. A ghost
hunter is vulnerable
Some ghosts and spirits are territorial they do not like it when the
living invade their favorite resting places. These spirits remain in
close proximity to these special places and will defend them. They
may start out with some subtle hints like loud noises or equipment
problems, but if their warning are not heeded, the spirit activity
may escalate to violent and dangerous activity. Always research and
examine each case before jumping into the ghost hunt.
Again while this is not a ghost hunting lesson here are 20 common
ghost hunting mistakes
Never Do the Following:
1)NEVER Trespass: Watch out for any posted warning signs. Always ask
for permission before going onto someone else's property. Avoid all
areas where access is prohibited. Trespassing will only get you
thrown in jail or worse. Be careful.
2)NEVER Litter: Leave the area exactly as you found it. Pick up any
trash, containers, and scarps of paper and tape. Wipe off any chalk
marks unless the site is a secluded area and you plan on returning.
3)NEVER Go Alone: Have at least one partner on ghost hunts, even if
the person doesn't know anything about ghost hunting. This provides
a little more safety and also a witness to any strange events that
might occur. If you are alone and an unforeseen accident or
emergency occurs, who will help?
4)NEVER Forget to Carry ID: If the police ever question you about
being in a private location, you will need some form of picture
identification preferably a driver's license. The police do have the
right to ask any citizen for an ID and, if you do not have one, they
have the right to detain you for questioning.
5)NEVER Forget to Tell People Where You Are Going: Tell someone
where you will be at and how long you plan on being gone. If you run
late in a ghost hunt, call and explain the situation. Never leave
friends or loved ones wondering where you are.
6)NEVER Record False Equipment Readings: Test all of your equipment
several times before leaving on an investigation. Replace batteries
as needed. Learn to correctly use all of the equipment before even
thinking about using them in the field. Remember to take background
readings outside of the active site.
7)NEVER Go Directly to a Site at Night: Thoroughly check over the
site in the daylight for any dangerous obstacles that may be
invisible in the darkness.
8)NEVER Smoke, Drink Alcohol or Use Drugs: Do not impair your
judgment or infect the site's environment with these substances. Use
common sense.
9)NEVER Wear Colognes, Aftershave, or Perfumes: Never wear anything
that creates a noticeable odor. The smells may affect other ghost
hunter's judgments. The air needs to be clear to detect any abnormal
odors. Some outside ghost hunts may require mosquito repellents. Use
odor free bug sprays and log there use.
10)NEVER Forget to Carry a Notebook: Everything needs to be recorded
and logged. No detail is too small. Keep lists of events, actions
and times. Record with audio and video if possible.
11)NEVER Forget to Wear a Watch: This goes along with your logbook.
You cannot record times if you do not know what time it is.
12)NEVER Whisper: Always speak clearly, especially if you are
recording the ghost hunt You do not want to later confuse your
whispering as something supernatural. If there are ghosts around
your voice is not going to scare them off.
13)NEVER Forget to do Research and Profiles: Too many ghost hunters
neglect to do the proper research before going out into the field.
What they fail to understand is that good research will only help
them with the possibilities of seeing a ghost.
14)NEVER Use a Cars Headlights as Main Source of Light: Sometimes
headlights come in handy for setting up campsites or equipment, but
do not use them as a long-term light source. You could drain the
battery enough that the car will not start.
15)NEVER Try to Bring Everything: Don't try to carry along every
piece of equipment. Just bring the basics and the equipment that you
absolutely need. Getting bogged down will only take your attention
away from the ghost hunt.
16)NEVER Forget to Bring Flashlights: Always have plenty of working
flashlights. Everyone should have two flashlights on hand.
17)NEVER Forget Extra Batteries: Know what kind of batteries each
piece of equipment takes and how to change them. Always carry extra
sets of batteries.
18)NEVER Forget to Take Lots of Pictures: Take as many photographs
as you can. That goes the same for video. You cannot have enough of
either. Just keep an eye on your film supplies. Do not run out
before the ghost hunt is over. Always have emergency rolls of film.
19)NEVER Forget to Bring Food and Drinks: It may sound trivial, but
you would be surprised how many ghost hunts have been ruined or have
been cut short because of the lack of snacks.
20)NEVER Go into Physically Dangerous Locations: It may be tempting
to conduct ghost hunts in old condemned buildings or on the edge of
a spooky cliff side, but avoid dangerous situations. The risk is
simply not worth it. Also, never go to any place when the weather
conditions are bad. Ghost hunts are meant to be fun at times and it
will not be fun if someone gets hurt, has to go to the hospital or
worse.
While in this world nothing is set you will never know how you will
react in a paranormal or supernatural situation or even other
worldly simply keep your cool your composure remember to be calm and
if you panic accidents can and will happen.
I hope all this has been helpful to all you future generations part
of this information came from my own collections of books. The Ghost
Hunters Bible "The Definitive Edition" by Trent Brandon. I urge you
all to seek out books to draw research from while some lessons are
meant to help and enlighten do not become cocky and over-confident
saying all don't need to read and can do well without them. For you
would be wrong, if money is an issue for you check your local
library and look for yourself. I have all ideas the quest for
knowledge won't hurt you or kill you. For knowledge is indeed power
never forget that.
